Network Administrator for CHROME Global Ltd. Responsible for setting up and  maintaining  a  network which contains:

Ø       Primary and secondary Domain Name Service

Ø       SMTP and POP Service for internal and clients

Ø       Web Servers for public access

Ø       Intranet

Ø       FTP servers

Ø       Internal file & print servers

Ø       Designed, purchased and supervised implementation of full office network including Cisco switches for Cat 5E network. Network included over 100 network nodes, 12 Laptop computers, 50 PCs and 8 servers.

Ø       Developed standards for various technical requirements in workstations dependant on use.

Ø       Responsible for purchasing of all hardware and software. Negotiation with suppliers.

Ø       Responsible for evaluation of hardware & software for servers and workstations.

Ø       Made recommendations to the Board regarding implementation of new services.

Ø       Support all office PCs including upgrades to hardware and software.

Ø       Installation of upgrades including Hard disks and RAM.

 

Network Administrator for Bylintha Pty Ltd. Responsible for setting up and maintaining a network which contains:

Ø       Domain Name Service for 8 Domains

Ø       SMTP and POP Service

Ø       Fax Gateway

Ø       FTP server including Anonymous access

Ø       Web Server

Ø       Office workstations

Ø       Production Control and development: Review system specifications and assist in design.

 

 Worked as a consultant within the computing industry

Ø       Griffin Coal:  Installation of Computer systems and implementation of Mine management system in conjunction with RTZ

Ø       Worsley Alumina: Design and development of the Stores management system. Assist in hardware and software selection for the project. Supervise programming staff for the implementation.

Ø       Building management Authority: Manage Installation and modification of MSA purchasing system within the Authority. Carry out training of staff during the implementation.

Ø       Department of Services: Implementation of the Common Use Purchasing system based on the MSA system, within government departments

Ø       Lecturer in charge of third year programming for WAIT (Curtin University) Designed test programs for students.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS           

Project management for the Intranet development for Energy Development Limited. Coordinating subcontractors in Perth and Sydney for an implementation in Brisbane. Project was brought in on time and on budget. The project used Ncompass Resolution, MS Site Server and ASP. It was installed on Windows 2000 using MS IIS 5 and used an SQL 2000 database.

 Project Leader for implementation, design and installation of Internet Web for the Rendezvous Hotels group. As Network Administrator for Microweb and CHROME Global dj was responsible for Implementation of MS Exchange Server to support Perth and Sydney staff. Installed and managed MS IIS servers for Intranet and Intranet hosting. Hosting was supported on in house servers and remotely at a Queensland web farm. Installed and managed MS SQL 7 Server. Installed and managed DNS Servers on both Windows NT server and Linux.  Design and manage the network installation for CHROME Global that included 4 Cisco Switches, a CAT5e network and phone system. This network had an ethernet link into the UUNET backbone.

 As Network Administrator the hosting environment included approximately 40 independent web sites ranging from static HTML to full e-commerce sites with real time payment gateway.

 Project management for installation of MSA Supply Software for state government departments. This project was based on the MSA suite of systems for Accounting and Supply. Some customisation was required to integrate with various other third party systems. The project was undertaken over about 4 years. The project was undertaken for the Department of services on behalf of most Government Departments and was named CUPS for Common User Purchasing System. This project involved liaison with many departments at various levels.
